5th International Workshop on Nuclear Data Covariances
- CW2022 -

September 26 to 30, 2022, Online by Tokyo Institute of Technology

History of covariance workshop:

This workshop is the fifth one in a series, started 2008 in Port Jefferson, USA by BNL, and continued in 2011 in Vienna, Austria by the Vienna University of Technology, hosted in 2014 in Santa Fe, USA by LANL and in 2017 in Aix en Provence, France by CEA. Due to an unfortunate situation by COVID-19 and a war in Europe which may prevent safe trips worldwide, we have to organize this workshop as a fully virtual workshop through Zoom. The CW2022 workshop will be held at 5am to 9am JST during September 26-30, 2022 as a virtual workshop. The URL will be announced for paritipants after paying the registration fee.

Purpose of CW2022:

The purpose of this workshop is to bring together key scientists in the field of nuclear data measurement and evaluation, statistical analysis, nuclear reaction theory, reactor physics, and other relevant applications to review recent developments in nuclear data evaluation methodology where uncertainty quantification is involved, to assess and discuss open questions, and to exchange our ideas and expertise relevant to the covariance data. This opportunity will be particularly important for identifying areas of future cooperation amongst the participants. The workshop scope is open to contributions on a wide variety of nuclear data observables (cross sections, fission yields, energy and angle spectra, etc.), from the resonance range up to high energy range as well as for light to heavy elements. New subjects such as machine / deep learning and artificial inteligence in nuclear data form an imporrtant part of this workshop.
